Jackets and Vests
The Assos Equipe RS Rain Jacket insulates, protects, and keeps the chill away with its waterproof construction and race-focused cut. At just 170g, it's half the weight of their legendary sturmPrinz, which means this is the jacket to grab when you need something slightly more everyday, slightly less heavy-duty. Crafted with Schloss Tex, the latest to come from the Assos Textile Laboratory, a lightweight, flexible, and waterproof fabric with minimal weight. This riding jacket borrows numerous cues from the race-proven sturmPrinz, such as the taped wrists and neck to minimize friction, silicon elastic waistband, and slot pockets that allow access to your regular jersey pockets beneath. Assos also applied a double zipper so you can get frontal airflow from the bottom, top, or both. With premiere water-repellent and windproof properties, the Equipe is an all-year riding jacket that provides pro-level performance.
The Liberty first entered the pro peloton in 2017 in a number of prototype iterations, each based on feedback from BMC Racing Team riders to satisfy what they saw as a gap in their clothing arsenal. After extensive testing, the EQUIPE RS Thermo Rain Jersey, also known as the Liberty, is available as our pro-spec, lightweight, waterproof jersey. As denoted by its internal label, the Liberty is classified as a "rain thermo racing device." We’ve stringently engineered it to be as watertight as necessary, as aerodynamic as possible, and as low volume as needed when performing at your maximum. Unlike conventional approaches to thermal rain jerseys, the Liberty relies on our non-porous Stratagon Light, which remains lightweight and able to perform even when wet. It’s no surprise to us that other World Tour teams have already expressed an interest in purchasing this product for their athletes. ASSOS cycling specific body mapping has informed the precise placement of five textiles, 13 patterns, and 10 components, ensuring the jersey remains aerodynamic while also being immune to wind, rain, and low temperatures. Efforts to elevate the Liberty’s performance are evident in the rear ventilation slots, known as squamoVenTech; the reduction of the number of stitches to minimize the risk of water entering; the double, dual-direction zipper; the large reflective panel on the rear for visibility; three optimally positioned rear pockets lined with a breathable mesh; and taped seams. The Liberty’s distinctive design is based on our latest intel: HI-AMtec (HeatInject - AccessMap). The left chest panel over the rider’s heart benefits from a layer of our Schloss Tex, thereby ensuring additional warmth and improved blood circulation by targeting the source directly. For ASSOS, this is aligned with our objective of reducing volume while riding—ensuring that riders are equipped for all conditions, without extra bulk when racing.
As a stalwart in the MILLE GT collection, this jacket employs a specifically engineered fabric that is both windproof and water-resistant, while still being lightweight and breathable—all at a great price. Taking design and engineering inspiration from the iconic falkenZahn gilet, the hydrophilic membrane on the front panels of this jacket gives increased wind and water resistance to protect you when the weather is bad. Knowing that spring and fall riding also sees the mercury rise, Assos included their opulent RX brushed fabric on the lower of the front of this jacket to elevate breathability and comfort—its brushed finish also doubles as supreme insulation when needed. Taking the breathability of the jacket to the next level, Assos used their lightweight summer jersey Stripe Tex fabric on the arms. Lightweight, protective and breathable, this jacket is the zenith of Assos' engineering abilities. For you, it’s a jacket that will keep you warm on those chilly mornings without running the risk of overheating as the temperature and ride intensity increases. Sounds like a good call for any ride carried out away from the heat of summer.
Engineered for that stretch between fall and deep winter with breathable, medium-weight insulation that shields you from icy winds and precipitation. This 3-layer thermal soft-shell has been crafted to hit winter out of the park—whether there’s wind, rain, a biting frost, or storms. To ensure you don’t overheat, Assos strategically deployed lighter materials on the shoulders, outer arms, and dorsal of this jacket—locations that benefit from the lower weight. Rounding off this jacket in pursuit of an ergonomic fit and improved breathability, they employed their race-proven RX fabric on the back and underarms.
Few experienced riders head out on their bikes without a windproof shell, no matter what time of year. Assos offers the Mille GT Wind Vest, a pared-down windproof shell jacket as part of the Mille GT collection to provide this essential protection. Assos brings you this wind jacket at a very fair price point while still sporting signature Assos performance. On the front of this vest you’ll find Assos’ proprietary Foil Ultra textile borrowed from other race-tuned, year-round pieces in the shells range. The side panels incorporate the high stretch and breathability of Glossy textile, and the dual-layer collar construction improves elasticity and comfort while riding. Easily pack this comfort-focused, easy-to-throw-on piece into a jersey pocket for essential protection, minimum volume, and maximum performance.
The women’s specific habujacketLaalalai is a remarkable demonstration of the technological ingenuity at Assos. A true winter cycling jacket, it is incredibly light and compact, which makes it supremely practical. To achieve such advanced performance, the habujacketLaalalai employs a selection of Assos’ smartest textiles. Front-facing Stratagon Light ensures great protection from the wind and rain at minimal weight, while the specially developed thermal fabric RXQ requires such low volume that the jacket as a whole can fit in a jersey pocket. However, with the habujacketLaalalai able to perform at up 15 degrees C, it’s rare that you will need to take it off. With such performance and comfort, all wrapped in the stylish grown-up aesthetic of the blackSeries color scheme, you won’t want to.
The tiburuJacketLaalalai is a fine demonstration of Assos’ focus on meeting the needs of every cyclist in every season. It’s a midweight piece of gear to manage the broad array of seasonal conditions that Assos calls tiburu, an amalgam of the best of their range. Wind and rain are handled by a front panel of stratagonUltra milleRighe, an exclusive Assos textile that is both lightweight and breathable. Beyond this, the cycling jacket displays attention to detail from every angle. From the Pavé Tex arms to the Sens Heavy Tex cuffs, every element of the tiburu women’s jacket is comprised of high-end materials with a carefully calibrated balance of insulation and breathability. It all comes together with a design developed and tested by Assos’ in-house testing team, resulting in attention to detail like the minimal stitching and the taped cuffs and waist, details which take the performance on the road to another level. This is not an in-between bike jacket. It’s just right.
